Sunnies, Shadows, and Selfies

It's beautiful out today here in Burbank.  I went for a walk with a friend and just enjoyed the winter leaf-less trees and the hot sun beating down on us.  The other day I saw some trees blooming like it was spring- even the wildlife is confused.  My little dog is shedding her fur coat as if the summer was here.  I don't blame her!  She's probably hot.  Just like the trees and dogs don't know what to wear- so too can summery weather in the winter throw off my style barometer.  It's like you want to dress for the season, but sweaters are out of the question.  For this occasion, I decided that a light weight knit top from Forever 21 in a dreary grey color would fit the mood of winter with the necessity of summer.  The back of this particular top is lacy on the top which lets even more breeze pass through.  Around my neck is a cute owl necklace that my sister-in-law Rachel gave me for Christmas.  When I wear anything with an owl on it I am reminded to ask God for wisdom.  On a more shallow note, I really like my eyeshadow today. I put a MAC plum color on the crease, a MAC shimmery tangerine on the middle, and a Hard Candy champagne color by my tear ducts- then I blended, blended blended!  It's a fun change from my usual gold with maybe a little brown in the crease.  I wore my heart shaped sunnies from Urban which helped protect my eyes from the blight glare.  On the bottom I wore my green denim jeans that I got on sale at Urban last year.  The forest green reminds me of the woods and brings another winter element into my outfit.  On my feet are my Etienne Aigner grey leather and suede boots from DSW- they tie the whole outfit together by matching with my top.  I like that they are chunky- it really grounds the outfit.
